Low-Income Measure - After Tax, LIM-AT, refers to a fixed percentage (50%) of the median adjusted after-tax income of private households. (Source: Statistics  Canada).

Data is provided for prevalance of low income, population counts for the population as a whole by age range, and the count of individuals with low incomes by age range.

This measure does not take costs into account, merely income compared to others.

Statistics Canada is currently evaluating different measures of poverty.
